Somerset COmmunity Foundation

Impey has always been a company with close charity connections and we feel it is essential to support not only national charities but to support and encourage strengthening of our own local community.

For this reason Impey has recently started a working relationship by opening a trust fund with the Somerset Community Foundation. The money invested will be used to aid local causes and provide support to those who need it most.

Set up in 2002 to provide a fully independent funding body to tackle poverty and disadvantage in Somerset, the SCF has many close links with charities all over Somerset with donations and support being spread as wide as from the far edges of Exmoor to the centre of Yeovil town.

There are 60 such organisations across the UK and in 2006 the total combined grant giving exceeded £60 million and the total combined endowment exceeded £140 million.

When making donations it is also possible to opt for ‘Gift Aid’ which means that for every £1 donated the Inland Revenue will also pay an additional 28p making a huge difference to the level of financial support received by the foundation.

The foundation also provides the opportunity to support many national charities if desired.
